Laguna Hills is located in Orange County, California. It has a population of slightly more than 30,000. The median age of the city’s residents is under 40. The city was built on land grants. After Mexico’s independence from Spain, people who had served in the Mexican government, or who had connections in the government, were given huge tracts of land where the city is now for cattle grazing. One person, Juan Avila, owned 13,000 acres where the city is now located.
